For the experienced surfer we have at least 7 good surf beaches within 5 miles. It’s a well kept secret but some of the best surf on the Atlantic coastline happens from September to March (left).
The surfing break at Northcott Mouth is only ½ mile stroll across fields from Northcott Farmhouse which has plenty of safe storage space for your boards and wetsuits.
For novices who would like to give this exhilarating and fun sport a try we can arrange tuition at one of the many local qualified surf schools.

Walking
All of the Court Farm Holiday properties offer easy access onto North Cornwall ’s dramatic section of the South West Coast Path. Additionally, you can enjoy the un-spoilt countryside of the North Tamar walking along the Bude Canal which was originally opened in the 1820's. This is a pleasant walk combining grassy coastal cliff paths and inland fields with the quiet and peaceful canal.
For those of you with an interest in ancient battles - you should explore the Stratton Battlefield. A walk of approximately two hours it explores the site of an Iron Age Fort, where the Civil War battle of Stamford Hill took place in 1643, between the Royalist Army and Parliamentarian Troops. Additionally, the Battle of Stratton re-enacted by members of the Sealed Knot Society each year. To plan you hikes in advance of your holiday visit www.walkcornwall.com
