Northcott
Northcott Farmhouse is located in a secluded location, just 2 miles
north of Bude on the North Cornwall Coast. Set in the heart of the
Trewin family’s 400 acre estate, it gazes out across farmland, down a
small valley to the stunning North Cornwall coastline.
A leisurely stroll along our private lane dissecting the crop fields
leads you down to the lovely Northcott Mouth beach - it's pebbles
giving way to an expanse of sand at mid-low tide where you can swim,
surf or just laze on the beach in the summer or discover it superbly
quiet during the winter months. From Northcott Mouth beach you can
walk the Atlantic heritage coast to to Sandymouth, a National Trust
run beach, or if you are feeling extremely energetic onward to
Duckpool. Walk in the other direction to the local seaside town of
Bude with its two blue-flag awarded beaches.
The perfect retreat to get away from it all.
Bude
The local town of
Bude (left) is only 10 minutes away by car, or by
foot, from Marhamchurch along the picturesque canal path or from
Northcott via the coastal footpath.
Bude offers traditional and contemporary seaside town shopping and
entertainment, supermarkets and a wide selection of cafes, pubs,
restaurants and nightlife for your evening’s entertainment.
The towns’ glorious beaches include two blue flag awarded beaches, one
with a safe seawater swimming pool. Additionally, there is a golf
course, 'Splash' indoor leisure centre and horse riding stables.
The Tamar Lakes, the source of the river Tamar that divides the two
counties of Devon and Cornwall are situated just a few miles inland.
The Lower Tamar Lake offers coarse fishing, bird-watching and
shoreline walking, while the upper Tamar Lake provides facilities and
instruction for a range of water sports including sailing, windsurfing
and canoeing.
Close by at Tamar Shooting Ground, you can go Clay Pigeon shooting with
Nigel Bond, five time member of the England ABT Shooting team.
