There is plenty going on now in the run up to Christmas, from Christmas Markets, garden illuminations, and Ice-skating.   Come explore the local beaches beaches, take in the crisp clean air and breathtaking countryside. Fantastic onsite facilities for all ages including our heated swimming pool. 

We’ve still plenty of availability for a winter or pre-christmas break in our wonderful warm and welcoming homes, beautifully decorated, some also with woodburners,  so pack your winter wears, favourite board games and slumber clothes and come cosy yourselves into one of our cottages for your winter getaway.

DECEMBER

Enjoy Rosemoor’s Glow (every Thursday, Friday and Saturday only, except Boxing Day) following a brand new route taking in the Cool Garden for the first time and down to the lake again.
The lights, starting from the Visitor Centre, illuminate part of the Winter Garden, which leads to the new Cool Garden then into the Stream Field and down to the lake area.  They also have many other amazing sculptures lit to create added features within the display. With remarkable, hi-tech colour-changing lights illuminating the garden in the depths of winter, it will make an amazing show to delight visitors.
 

Enchanted Saltram

Now until end of December
 

Step into the magical world of Enchanted Saltram and become spellbound by what you see .  Follow the illuminated trail through the garden after dusk and discover the fairytales through the treasure rooms of the house.

 

Unbounded at the Eden Project

Now until 26 Jan 2020
 
A must go to attraction at any time year but this Winter their Unbounded
Exhibition is an exhibition of contemporary art exploring some of the many layers of Cornwall’s social and environmental landscapes. 
 

Ice Skating at the Eden Project 

Now until  23 Feb 2020
 
Their glittering ice rink is back! Why not have a whirl in their winter wonderland – everyone is welcome, from complete novices to figure skating pros.
 

Shawn the Sheep Armageddon Glow Trail, Cardingham Woods

Now until March

Be among the first to complete their new Shaun the sSheep Armageddon Glow Trail ! Join Shawn and his mossy bottom pals to help Lu-Lu the alien, safely home  Grab your Shawn the Sheep ears and head into the forest for an adventure thats out of this world

The Glow Trail will be available on their Lady Vale walk between October – March  Activity packs will be available from the Rangers Hut or visit their Website to download the free App to complete the challenges and solve the puzzles.

Bude Christmas Fayre

1st December

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Bude Christmas Fayre, held across the Parkhouse Centre and The Castle from 11am – 4pm

The Parkhouse centre will be the marketplace hub, full of stalls to browse from a range of local businesses, it will also host live entertainmentall day from local choirs and musicians singing carols and festive songs.  The Castle will be focused on family fun – home to Santa and his grotto, with free Christmas workshops, singing and storytelling for children.    Festive food and drink available all day.  

Marhamchurch Christmas Tree Lights & Children’s Entertainment

1st December

Marhamchurch Village Christmas Tree Lights switch on followed by children’s disco and refreshments in the Village Hall.

Christmas at Norton Barton

7th December 10.30am – 11.00pm

On Saturday 7th December, Norton Barn will be open for a day of festive fun for the whole family, with craft workshops, live music, warming food, free tours of The Cornish Distilling Company’s distillery and delicious seasonal cocktail.   Various workshops including Cocktail masterclass, wreath making, Straw Glory Braid making, Ceramics, Biscuit & chocolate decorating and Xmas card & wrapping paper making.

Christmas Carol Evening – Boscastle Farmshop

12th December 6.30 – 10.30

Sing along to Christmas Carols with their local entertainer “Callum Flew” and enjoy a hot turkey roast bap with sage & onion stuffing. Plus homemade Christmas Pudding to follow. Vegetarian option also available just let us know on booking.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan Christmas Fair

6th December

Christmas is always a magical time at The Lost Gardens of Heligan. We invite you to join us for the first of our Christmas events, the Heligan Christmas Fair, which will be held on Friday 6th December from 4pm to 8pm and both Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December from 10am to 4pm.

This festive event is a must in your Christmas calendar and gives you the opportunity to enjoy entry to the gardens together with the perfect chance to find some unique gifts and enjoy some live music.

Entry to the Fair and Gardens is free to Heligan Members, £1 for Local Pass holders and £2 for everyone else.

Santa’s Grotto & Elf Emporium – The Milky Way, Abbotsham

Meet the REAL Father Christmas, decorate gingerbread, make reindeer food and more … Don’t miss out on A MAGICAL FUN-FILLED festive day out at The Milky Way Adventure Park this Christmas!On 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th, 21st, 22nd & 23rd of December 2019 you can meet Father Christmas and his elves in our magical grotto. Kids will love our unique Buzzlewick’s Elf Emporium – where Buzzlewick the elf and friends will be helping Father Christmas sort and load the children’s fabulous letters ready for him to take back to the North Pole. They will also be helping the children to decorate yummy gingerbread straight from Mother Christmases kitchen and make environmentally friendly all natural reindeer food ready for Christmas Eve! Activities vary slightly depending on dates

 

Trelissick Illuminated & An Audience with Father Christmas 

6th – 31st December

Trelissick National Trust becomes an illuminated wonderland as the sun sets. Meander along the garden paths and enjoy a magical experience of colour and light.

Join Father Christmas as he returns to Trelissick to entertain families with his festive tales in the stables.

Bedruthan’s Sugar and Spice Grotto

Now until 23rd December

Embark on a magical adventure, meet Tomte, Astrid, the friendly elves and loveable reindeer in Tummetott village. Enter Festlig Wood lit by candlelight and decorate beautiful wooden Christmas tree decorations to hang on your own tree at home. Visit the Ice Queen in her snow cavern, throw snowballs and make snow angels. Finally, wind your way through the frozen forest to find Father Christmas’s Sugar and Spice Grotto to meet the old man himself and help to fix his sleigh and save Christmas!

Your mystical experience will take at least an hour, including plenty of photo opportunities with our festive friends and Father Christmas, a tree decoration to take home with you, time to play in the snow cavern, a visit to Father’s Christmas’s grotto including a gift and plenty of time to explore the wintery woodlands. You can also visit the Supper Kabin for a range of hot beverages and festive tipples.

Christmas Day Swim, Crooklets Beach Bude

25th December – 11am 

Wednesday 25th December @ Crooklets beach, starters whistle 11am Everyone is welcome, the only rule… NO WETSUITS!!

You can register on the day or pop in and see the legends at Zuma Jay  You can pick up sponsorship forms from them too (or you can download them)

Everyone who raises £30 or more will get one of our limited edition Christmas Day swim t-shirts (can pick up in Zuma Jays or at the swim)
All money raised will go directly to the club and invested in lifesaving training and equipment

Boxing Day BBQ, Clovelly

26th December

Boxing Day Barbecue should make the perfect follow-up to Christmas day for all your family and friends.

Enjoy a lunch barbecue with live music on the quay with FREE entrance into the village all day. So come and park at the Visitor Centre. Take a walk along the estate and/or explore the village in the morning. Then come on down to the Red lion on the quay. Cooking starts at midday and the live music runs from 1pm to 3pm.

The Red Lion serves some great mulled cider. If you are more of a chocolate person, then try one of the delicious, hot chocolate drinks
